EPC Welcomes our New Music Director
Our new Music Director is a man of many talents! Jamie Dick, who will join us on Sunday, January 12, has led both adult and children’s choirs, taught music in public schools, directed youth theater productions and run children’s opera camps. He enjoys both contemporary and traditional music and leading others to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit as they worship and praise the Lord under his choral direction.
Jamie’s wife, Luci, and children, Trevor and Mackenzie, are also musically talented. Luci is an accomplished vocalist with experience singing everything from opera and jazz to contemporary church praise songs and traditional worship music. Seventeen-year old Trevor sings in four choirs; eight-year old Mackenzie is in honors chorus at her school.
Jamie is in the process of completing a master’s degree in music education and Luci a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Indiana’s Butler University where they met. The Dick family is moving to East Cobb from Las Vegas, where they have lived for 25 years.
In addition to their involvement with music, Jamie teaches indoor group cycling classes and Luci is a certified Personal Trainer.
Among Jamie’s professional accomplishments are:
- Directing children’s choirs and praise teams along with youth versions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Godspell.
- Running opera camps
- Conducting choirs and orchestras in performing: Messiah – Handel; The Seven Last Words of Christ – Dubois; Gloria – Vivaldi; Rejoice in the Lamb – Brittan; Gloria – Rutter; Magnificat – Rutter; Magnificat – Pergolesi; Joy! A Soulful Celebration of the Season – Williamson, among others.
- Establishing Las Vegas’ first Christian fine arts company, Desert Spring Arts, to perform large operatic choruses and orchestral works as well as community children’s choir programs and musicals.
Please welcome the Dick family to Eastminster!
