Becoming a Missional Christian: An 8-week sermon series — August 9 through September 27, 2015 Christ is calling us into his service in the world, and to follow him will change us. Scroll down for additional resources, including discussion guides and weekly videos. Sermons can be found here. If you went on a mission trip, you would wake up each day wondering how God is planning to use you. You’ve spent the money, sacrificed the time—all for Jesus. So when you wake up each day your motivation is to serve Jesus and to love the people. “Jesus, I’ve traveled all this way and made all this sacrifice. I want to know that my time and energy is spent today doing just what you want me to do to reach these people with your love. Help me,” you would pray. What if you woke up every day in your community and asked “Lord, how do you want to use me today to reach this neighborhood for you? How do you want to use me to reach this community with your love?” What if we could learn to live our everyday lives on mission for Jesus? It would change the world. Based on Don Evert’s book Go and Do: Becoming a Missional Christian (InterVarsity Press, 2012) this series will activate our outward focus encouraging us to follow Jesus on mission out into the world for his glory. It begins with the anatomy of a mature Christian (eyes, hands, feet, heart, and soul). Then it explores the geography we will traverse if we follow Christ in his mission (family, friends, church, and the world). As you Go and Do, Jesus will be with you!
