Sunday Morning Adult Classes, 10:15-11:00am

Grace Based Parenting | CLC Room 204
Led by Keith and Angela Blackwell and Eric and Alison Horton
Grace Based Parenting is not another manual full of impossible standards; rather it is a new map for learning to see ourselves and our children through God’s limitless tenderness – to raise our kids the way God raises us—through Grace.  The best part is that it is never too early and never too late to begin to apply these concepts into your family.  No matter what age and stage you and your child are in, no matter what your family dynamic is, the principles of Grace Based Parenting can make a difference in your family.

The Letter to the Hebrews | Library
Led by Rick Sloss
Written at a time of great political instability, the Letter to the Hebrews was addressed to Christians who were struggling to understand what was going on in their world and what they could do about it.  In the face of great turmoil and uncertainty, the author of Hebrews exhorts his readers to “press on to maturity” by learning to “walk by faith, not by sight”.  Today, we too, live in an age of uncertainty and great turmoil around the world and the message of Hebrews is just as relevant today to any follower of Christ who wants to learn to put their faith in the rock solid permanence of the eternal God, rather than in the instability of the temporal world.

Looking For Signs: Genesis (Part II) | CLC Room 209
Led by Carolyn Waters
Many people love the stories of Jesus in the New Testament and prefer them over the Old Testament stories; somehow, we may not realize how interconnected they are. It is said, “the Old Testament is the New Testament concealed, and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed.” This class starts “In the beginning….” We will walk through Genesis looking for signs of Jesus in every corner of the book. The first step in knowing the whole Bible is knowing what each book is and how it connects to the overall story. Join our adventure through scriptures! We are embarking on “The Greatest Love Story of All Time.”

Passing on the Faith | CLC Room 208
Led by Pastor Hubie and Terri Mann
We all know that we’re “supposed” to pass on our faith to others.  That’s what the Great Commission is all about, right? The problem is that most Christians lack the confidence to do that or they’re not even sure about how to get started.  If that describes you, then “Passing on the Faith” is a class that will give you the practical tools to begin to share your faith with your family and friends and hopefully make some disciples!

The Letter of 1st John | CLC Room 204
Led by Pastor Aaron and Paula Barbin
God is light; God is love; and God is life. Therefore, John says, the one who wants to walk in fellowship with God will walk in light, love, and life. These three ideas are the central themes of 1st John and they are just as relevant today as they were in the first century when John wrote this letter.  So, come join us for an in depth look at this “beloved” epistle and  explore what it means to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who walk in light, love and life.
